Boards that sit on a line
A plasterboard wall only looks cheap when it was set out badly. We work to a line, keep openings plumb, and use the right board for the room, including moisture-resistant board in kitchens and bathrooms.
Dot and dab on masonry, or a timber or metal frame, depends on the background and what you need the wall to do. We will not dab over dust and hope it holds.
The skim is part of the same job unless you have another plasterer coming in. Most clients want one trade responsible for both the board and the finish.

Plasterboard questions
Do you build the stud wall as well as board it?
We board and plaster. If a frame is already in, we work to it. If you need a new partition from scratch, say so on the enquiry and we will tell you what we can take on.
What board do you use in bathrooms?
Moisture-resistant board on walls that will see steam, then a skim. Tiling still needs a proper substrate. We will not pretend plasterboard is a wet-room tanking system.
Can you dot and dab existing brick or block?
Yes, if the masonry is sound and reasonably true. Loose render or dusty brick needs preparation first, otherwise the dabs fail.
Is the skim included?
Usually yes. If you only want boards left taped for another plasterer, we can price that, but most jobs are boarded and skimmed by us.
Can you form window reveals in plasterboard?
Yes. Reveals are cut and set so the window still looks like joinery, not a box of board.
