Cornice and Coving
The run around the room, fitted with the rose so the ceiling reads as one job.
Cornice and coving
Glasgow and Central Scotland
Plaster roses supplied and set true to the light fitting. Missing centres replaced, and new roses fitted with the cornice so the ceiling reads as one piece of work.
A rose is the centre of the ceiling, not a disc stuck on after the paint. We supply plaster roses and set them to the light fitting and to any cornice in the room.
Missing roses are common in tenements and older houses. If one room still has the original, that is the pattern to follow. If none survive, we fit a plaster rose that sits with the cornice, not a plastic cover over the rose box.
Roses often come down when a ceiling is reboarded. Fitting a new one is then part of putting the ceiling back. Send a photo of the existing rose, or of the empty centre, and we quote the supply and the fitting together.

Not always. A rose still covers the rose box and gives the fitting a proper centre. On a plain modern ceiling some people prefer a small rose or none. Say what the room is and we will advise from a photo.
Often close enough from a photo and a diameter. Exact historic matches are not always sitting on a shelf. We will tell you if the nearest plaster rose is a cousin rather than a twin.
Yes, that is the point of setting it true. The flex or pendant comes through the centre. If the fitting is off-centre in the room we say so before we fix the rose to the wrong spot.
Usually yes. Taking boards down takes the rose with them. Fitting a new plaster rose is then part of the ceiling job, quoted with the plastering rather than as an afterthought.
We supply and fit plaster roses. Plastic covers over a rose box are not what this page is for. If you only need a cheap cover, a lighting shop is the better place.
